Hi, I just spent half the day catching up with your life. I was a reader of you former blog, but was overly involved in my own messy life at the time you made your switch and missed getting on board. Since my info will show I'm from one of the places you've lived in the past, I thought I'd comment so you would know that I'm not someone you know IRL who's digging into your life, just an interested reader.

Several of your post's on language development have been invaluable and have helped me find the right professionals to address my daughters needs. 3 of my 6 kids have medical and/or developmental delays and/or "other ongoing issues" that always made me wish I could be your next door neighbor. You had a post where you outlined your education and employment history that I found fascinating, especially since you have worked with such a variety of children that were dealing with the same types of challenges my kids face. Finding a place where parents can congregate to give their children a chance to play, talk with other parents about difficulties and even receive services for more difficult challenges would be amazing. The chance to get feedback from a mother like you (who both educational and experiential expertise to offer) would be amazing. I hope you keep that idea in the back of your mind for when life gets a little less crazy. You would be so wonderful!

I'm a Canadian living in Italy and I ALWAYS give up my seat. I must say when here in Italy most people will give up their seats for the elderly, pregnant and/or disabled and mom with young children. I've noticed though more and more that it's the immigrants who do so more than the Italians.

As a Canadian, I can confirm that Canadians are definitely more helpful On a recent visit home, I was looking for a street address and a woman stopped me on a street in Montreal and asked if she could help me as I looked lost...! :-)

i am a disabled male with epilepsy, ld, emotional and psychological problems. i think what your thick headed mom does not quite(or want to) understand is that it is MUCH MUCH MUCH easier for disabled people to click, relate and fall in love.

what a nice surprise to read your post. I am so lucky to have raised my boys there, and now take my grandson. The building and contents burned, but not the spirit. We need to raise a lot of money, but the support has been terrific. If you visit again, there will be a new storefront, but the same old attitude. It is good to see your boys enjoying the place. Nice post, thanks.

We are so very sad that the Children's Storefront was destroyed. I'm so glad you found it when you were here...and it definitely is a place for fond memories for many many families. My son, nearly 6, has asked for months that we go but it's only open during school hours. It's great to see your pictures of your boys enjoying themselves there. Hopefully they'll be up and running once again. Thanks for posting about it!

Praying for you and the baby, Lexie. And Katie is right-- reach out to your church for help! They could at least keep you in meals.

I'm thankful that you got the H1N1 vaccine. I'm in the same boat you are-- 29 weeks pregnant with twin girls, and I was freaking out about H1N1. My OB's office STILL doesn't have the vaccine! I finally went to a park where the county had set up a free clinic, stuck out my belly as far as I could and said, "I'm a pregnant lady who needs a shot!" Bam, right to the front of the 3-hour line! I felt like I had won the lottery.

Lisa, don't be a hero. Reach out to your church for help.

I am suprised someone in your neighborhood hasn't organized a round of "make the high-risk pregnant lady and her cute twin sons dinner." Where I grew up, all the neighborhood ladies took turns making hard-up neighbors dinner for weeks at a time - death in the family, one lady broke her leg and had four kids to feed, any general hardship. They took pride in who made the better dinner, who included dessert, etc.

You're gonna hang in there, the baby is going to be fine, everything is going to be beautiful. :-)
